Postby ulath on Mon May 05, 2008 3:22 pm

Hi guys,
i've just installed Jaws, it seems to be a wonderful one. But I didn't find out, how to change and add meta tags.

I hope someone will help me :)

Meta tags can be changed/added in the header part on a html file between <head>...</head> ;)

In one form, meta elements can specify HTTP headers which should be sent before the actual content when the HTML page is served from Web server to client. For example:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html" />

You should insert the Meta tag element at the top of your document, just after the <TITLE> element. It follows the normal form of tags, example<META name="something" content="something else">but note that you don't have to have a </META> at the end of the tag, the way that you do with something like bold . However, make sure that each tag does not consist of any line breaks, since some search engines get a little bit difficult about this.
